Another COVID-19 message isn’t enough

Dear Friends,

GetSet was founded on the notion that resilience and the ability to support each other through life’s challenges are at the core of student success. Today, we are faced with the greatest and most acute challenge that most of us have known. 

Today’s students, their instructors, and their institutions are facing unprecedented challenges ranging from, but certainly not limited to, transitioning to online learning and dealing with complicated housing situations, making ends meet, transportation and visa concerns, managing having to homeschool children, being the best caregivers possible for their loved ones, and wondering what this means for their education and careers.

What we are seeing on the GetSet Student Community is warmth, support, and a very poignant message - “We do not know when this will end, we do not know what lies ahead, but we are certain that no matter what, we will be there for each other.” The community’s courage and resilience in the face of the adversity COVID-19 has caused makes me feel truly humbled and blessed to be able to play a small role in facilitating it. 

The students on the GetSet community are showing us all that whether we are separated by six feet or six thousand miles, we need each other more than ever before. We must stand by each other and double down on community. 

In this spirit, we are doubling down on our commitment to help every student graduate and succeed. We have added substantial capacity to keep up with increased demand and are adding new functionality to deliver deeper and more frequent peer-to-peer support.

We have no idea when this will end but you can be certain that we will stand by you.
