How and when will DeVry students be introduced to GetSet?

Students will learn about GetSet in New Student Orientation (NSO), and will be asked to join the GetSet community. In conversations with students, you should recommend GetSet as a resource that can help with a variety of challenges, as outlined in our discussion guide.

Joining GetSet includes:

  1. Signing up for a GetSet account
  2. Completing their profile
  3. Downloading the GetSet app on their iPhone or Android.

What if my student didn't complete NSO?

While completing NSO is highly recommended for all new students, it is possible that some will not, and therefore will miss having an introduction to GetSet.

Introduce students to GetSet with the following information:

  1. GetSet is a resource for DeVry University students to share tips and advice for being a successful student.
  2. Download the GetSet app for iOS or Android, or go to student my.devry.edu > click Resources > click GetSet.

How should I talk to my students about GetSet?

When a student is succeeding: Encourage them to write a post on GetSet. Sharing their stories about succeeding despite obstacles will reinforce their growth mindset and inspire and encourage others.

When a student is struggling: Encourate them to log in to GetSet and see how other students got through similar challenges. Stories on GetSet are a helpful resource when a student expresses concerns about their abilities.

Insight: GetSet's data dashboard

How do I set up my Insight account?

Insight, our reporting tool, allows staff and administrators to view student information and posts on GetSet. For security reasons, an account administrator must approve your account before you can access Insight. Note: your view in Insight will vary depending on your permissions levels.

  1. Request an Insight account here.
  2. Your account administrator will review and approve your request.
  3. You’ll receive an email from us once your account has been approved and you can log in.


What if I can't find a student in Insight?

Students will only appear in Insight once they've joined GetSet. Students should have joined GetSet during New Student Orientation, but in case they haven't, instruct them to download the GetSet app for iOS or Android, or go to my.devry.edu > click Resources > click GetSet.

Can I create a GetSet account?

GetSet is a safe space just for students to interact with each other. Because we want to create a community where students feel comfortable speaking honestly about their struggles, faculty and staff do not have access to GetSet. You can always see what your students are doing in GetSet using Insight, our data dashboard.
